Brian E. Maloney, Partner
Brian E. Maloney is a founding partner who has been associated with the firm since it was first organized in 1987. His transactional practice emphasizes real estate law, business law and estate planning.
With respect to his real estate practice, Brian has represented property owners,developers, landlords and tenants, title insurance companies, real estate brokers, as well as both buyers and sellers of residential and commercial properties. As legal counsel for the El Dorado County Association of Realtors® since 1980, he has counseled the local real estate community for many years. He also represents numerous builders and contractors, including their local trade association, the El Dorado County Builders' Exchange, Inc. Brian has assisted developer clients in the preparation of management documents for common interest subdivisions as well as commercial office projects. He has both litigated and assisted clients in diverse real estate transactions and is very knowledgeable with respect to all real property issues, including easements, boundary line issues, landlord and tenant issues, title issues, subdivision map issues, and many others.
Mr. Maloney's business law practice includes the formation of legal entities, such as corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships. He has also counseled clients in the sale of businesses, including agricultural business such as ranches, orchards and wineries.
Brian further assists clients having small and medium-sized estates with their estate planning needs.
Mr. Maloney received his B.A. degree from University of California at Davis in 1972 and he received a J.D. degree from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1976. Brian was admitted to the California State Bar in 1976 and is admitted to practice in both federal and state courts. He is a member of the Real Property and Estate Planning Sections of the State Bar as well as a member of the El Dorado County Bar Association.
Mr. Maloney has an "A-V" rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating possible under its peer review rating system.
