Nelson K. Brooks, Partner

Nelson Keith Brooks is a seasoned trial lawyer with over twenty-five years experience in jury and bench trials in both Federal and State Courts throughout Northern California. He has recovered many millions of dollars for his clients, and brings his years of experience to bear on each case he handles. His practice is exclusively devoted to civil litigation and dispute resolution in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, real estate, construction defect and business matters.

Over the years, Keith has represented a wide and varied clientele, ranging from individuals in the local and national news to indigents represented pro bono, and from mom and pop businesses to regional and national corporations. Regardless of the circumstances of the particular client, Mr. Brooks brings the same diligent, committed and forceful level of representation to all his cases.

Keith attended Middlebury College in Vermont before graduating with a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Santa Clara and then earning his Juris Doctorate from U.C.’s Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. He has also completed Sacramento State University’s rigorous Dispute Resolution Program and is certified as a Professional Neutral Mediator through its College of Health and Human Services.

Mr. Brooks is admitted to practice before the California Supreme Court and all the Superior Courts of California, as well as before the Federal Courts for the Eastern District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a past president of the El Dorado County Bar Association and is also a member of the National Bar Association and the Sacramento County Bar Association. He has voluntarily served with distinction as a Judge Pro Tem for the Superior Courts of both El Dorado and Sacramento Counties, presiding over difficult and complex settlement conferences and dispute resolution conferences.

Keith has a strong civic commitment to his community and has served on the Board of Directors of Snow Line Hospice for the past nine years. He is a dedicated supporter of local youth activities, including coaching youth sports and mentoring El Dorado County high school students as advocates in the County’s Teen Court Program.
